Ozone in the past has been used as an alternative to chlorine. Using an ozonator alone will decrease your chlorine use by 70-80% but you still need to keep a minimal chlorine residual, with the TrioPure the chlorine generator will kick in to produce the little bit of chlorine needed to keep your pool crystal clear.
