How to replace Sand in your Sand Pool Filter

Always remember to turn off power to the equipment before removing sand.
Remove lid from sand filter. Some models will have a removal tool.
The only way to remove sand is to scoop it out by hand. Once you have removed the majority of sand a wet vac can be used to clean out the remaining sand and water.
Fill the tank ½ way with water. This will provide a cushioning effect when the sand is poured in. You can also place plastic around threads of filter. This will prevent sand from sticking to threads and making it harder to retighten lid.
Pour silica sand into filter (See owner's manual for required amount of sand). Level out sand, remove plastic from threads, and retighten lid.
