Like most pumps, the Pentair WhisperFlo pump is shipped from the factory wired for 230V. This guide shows you how to change a WhisperFlo pump and other similar pumps from a 230V to a 115V configuration. The motor on these pumps comes in two different styles to access the wires, one with a small metal door, and one with a full cap. This guide will address both variations.

That is something you would need to troubleshoot; it's not something we can guess at from afar. How To Troubleshoot a Pool Pump Motor - Motor Overheated, or How To Use a Clamp Ammeter to Test a Pool Pump Motor - Amperage or Using the Proper Test Equipment to Troubleshoot Pool MotorsReply

I have a Pentair pump that needs a new motor. The old motor is set to 115v, but the input wires are red, black and green, and the circuit box has 2 breakers for the pump. Without a multimeter, how do I tell if I have 115 or 220 going to the pump? Last thing I want to do is fry the new motor by putting 220 into a 115 pump. The new Jacuzzi motor has a 115/220 selector.Reply

If the old motor was set to and running on 115 volts, then you have 115 volts. But if the previous installer didn't use traditional wire color coding to note voltage, then you should use a multimeter to be super sure.Reply
