Step by Step

Step 1

Materials Needed: Sand (amount is dependent on the model step), Funnel

Step 2

Because each pool step is different, you must first locate where the hole or cavity area is placed on the step. It may have a cavity area in the actual step.

Step 3

Some steps place the cavity area on the side railings. You must determine which step you own before you begin the weighing down process.

Step 4

Next, depending on your pool step's make and model, the amount of sand needed to weigh down your pool step varies. ZEOsand is available for purchase through our website as well.

Step 5

Using your funnel to direct the sand, pour the necessary amount of sand into the opening. Continue filling the cavities until you reach the top.

Step 6

Close the cavities with the caps designed to fit into the openings.

Step 7

Next, place the steps back into the pool to check to see if they stay submerged in the pool. If the steps stay in place, simply position in the location of your choosing.

Do you carry any adjustable legs or taller suction cups for Walkway step? Pool floor slopes to center drain and bottom step needs to come up from pool bottom about 1-3/4 to 2 inches to level stairs. Also will help level out deck arms to attach to deck. HELP!

Anonymous (sand in steps) - If it's too heavy for two people to lift out, try vacuuming out some of the sand with a wet vac.

Lois - You should be able to move the steps away from the wall to brush off the back and tip it half way to get at the bottom. Have two people lift it slightly off the floor when you move it so you don't damage the lining. Keep the pool chemicals balanced to minimize algae buildup.

How do you get the steps out of the water and algae builds up under and the back?

kim - Unfortunately, that will not work. You need to fill the steps with something that is heavier than water.

Can holes be drilled into the pool steps so it is weighted down with water instead of using sand?
