I have an older(1960’s) inground pool . The pump and sweep are run with 220 v , 2 hot wires no neutral and no ground . How do I make this safe?

This is really not a scenario that we can advise a homeowner to do. You are dealing with water & electricity in the same environment and currently you have a very unsafe situation. We can only advise that you contact a pool/spa professional & or licensed electrician to pull/add the correct wiring to make your backyard safe & fun.You are not able to install a GFI without a neutral or ground wire as it is the ground/ neutral that is sensing the milliamps to trip the GFI should something become unsafe.
