How many years should a grid like this last?

Hi Joanne, DE filter grids should easily last 5 years in a properly-sized filter in a well-maintained pool.  It is not unusual for some pool owners to get 10  years of life out of them.

Cracked Manifold and a Boken Grid

Written on 7/18/2023 by Guest

1. Turned off the pump and the breaker.
2. Released the filter pressures by opening the pressure valve.
3. Opened the filter drain plug.
4. Took off the filter top making sure not to damage the large O ring.
5. Pulled out the old disgusting grid.
6. Inspected the filter plumbing and replaced the small manifold O ring.
7. Cleaned the inside of the filter using a hose and my hand.
8. Installed the new grid. I bought the entire grind and manifold so it was assembled.
9. Made sure it was in properly.
10. Put silicone spray on the O Rings and reinstalled the top of the filter.
11. Reinstalled the filter plug.
12. Closed the pressure valve.
13. Turned the filter breaker on and turned on the filter.
14. Put in DE powder. 6 Lbs for my 60 cf filter.
15. Checked the filter for leaks.
16. Done
I called the tech line with a question. I needed to know how to install the air breather. It was a snap. Plus, she sent me Diy videos. I saved over 1k doing it myself.
