This piece has or looks to be loose from the rest will it being loose cause it to suck in air while running n how do I tighten it back up? I can see the screws on the inside but not sure how to get this piece tightened back up. Thanks

Hi Sumer, If the part is not secured to the housing air can get into the lines. The Housing is secured to the pump cover using the Pool Pump Clip.

Upon starting my above ground pump i noticed a large pool forming under the filtration unit. I inspected closely and found a large crack in the bottom of the strainer housing.
After shutting off the pump and blocking the gravity siphon, i removed the housing release clip, and slowly pulled the housing off it's mount and pipe.
I then proceeded to order the replacement part on Inyopools.com and then reinstalled the new part upon delivery, thus solving my issue.
