The UST1102 motor is most commonly used on the following 1 HP Pumps
I have a Hayward Super Pump (about 3 years old). When I started it up this year, it took about 30 seconds for the pump to turn on then it turned off then back on and it's been off/on for a few days now. The local pool person I spoke to said that he believes it's the thermal overload protector since it started with the first 'turn on' and wasn't as if the pump was running for a long period of time before exhibiting the behavior. Before buying the protector from you, does that make sense?Thanks

Hi, CPool . It's possible, the thermal overload only engages if the motor gets above a certain temperature, if it the motor shaft fail to spin due to a ceased bearing but that does not seem to be the case because the motor shaft is spinning. You can try replacing it but it's hard to say if it will resolve the problem.

Since the automatic thermal overload protector is no longer available for MOD UST1072 will this one work?

Hi, Jeff. The UST1102 Thermal Overload Protector will not work in place of the UST1072 Thermal Overload Protector.

What's the difference between UST and USQ?

Hi, Carlos. The frame styles are the major differences between the UST and USQ motors. The UST motors have a 56J frame (round flange) and the USQ have a 48Y frame (square flange). Also, some parts are specific to each style motor.

Why does the Thermal Protector Switch on your display have only two wires (blue and yellow) and the one shown on your How To Install video shows three?

Hi, CP. That's because the one shown in the How To Replace the Thermal Overload Protector guide was removed from an actual motor which has the voltage selector. The replacement does not come with the voltage selector.

So, Does that mean that I don't need a voltage selector wire when I install the replacement Thermal Protector? Just wanting to be sure before ordering one!

Hi, CP. That is correct, you will reuse your existing voltage selector and wire.
