NEW ‘CLEAR’ SOLAR SUN DISCS WARM YOUR POOL EVEN FASTER THAN BLUE ONES!
These amazing solar discs do everything that a solar blanket will do but without the hassle of lugging on and off that big, wet solar blanket. Solar Sun Discs are 5’ wide discs that float on top of the pool’s surface allowing solar energy to pass through them and into your pool. At night the air bubbles in each solar disc insulate the water, keeping your pool warm while they reduce evaporation.
Clear Design – Since our solar sun discs are clear, they allow the maximum amount of solar heating to reach your pool. Up to 20% more than regular blue discs or rings! Compact 6-sided hexagonal shape covers more pool surface than round rings and provide better heating. Integrated Velcro along the edges holds the discs together for better coverage. The discs break apart in the event of an accidental fall, so they are safer than a traditional solar blanket. Solar Sun Discs should optimally cover around 70% of your pools’ surface area.
Put the super efficient Magni Clear™ Solar Sun Discs in your pool and enjoy a warmer pool without the hassle of a solar blanket.
Does the solar cover come with an overlap like a winter cover does?
Reply
No, the solar cover does not come with an overlap. A solar cover is designed to sit on top of the water's surface and fits on the inside perimeter of the pool wall.

Pros: Shape is easy to manage.
Cons: Storage, but that's due to my shed location.
Easy to use, putting in and more importantly pulling out. One fits nicely in the spa during and after heating.

(4 out of 5 stars) Holds the heat well.
Reviewed By: Patrick S. from pinehurst, NC ()
Pros: east to use
Cons: overlapping discs
This seems to hold the heat well. Biggest problem is that the individual discs will overlap when pushed around by the return jets. Regardless, the discs do a reasonable job of holding the heat.

(3 out of 5 stars) Read all reviews before purchasing
Reviewed By: Carol from Alabama ()
Pros: requires only one person to put together w/i 15 mins.
Cons: expect to spend a lot of money
I agree with other reviews that the discs are relatively easy to put together, but best when you're "in the pool", if the water is not too cold. I want to point out that the picture on this product with 5 discs is NOT what it appears. Five discs hardly covers the shallow area on an average size pool!! I am very disappointed that they give you an estimate to purchase based on your pool size, when actually you need a lot more. So, I am upset that I have to purchase more and pay shipping and handling. These get very expensive after 3 sets and it becomes more stressful when you realize you NEED to invest more money to cover the pool appropriately. Someone should post another review as to if these actually do what they are suppose to. Dispite my disappointment, I like the product fine.

(5 out of 5 stars) Durable, Easy to Use Pool Discs
Reviewed By: Jen V. from Clinton, TN ()
Pros: Easy to Use and Durable
Cons: Followed recommended guidance, but did not order enough boxes
These pool discs are very easy to put in and take out of the pool. I can do this in about 5 - 10 minutes now. They definitely seem to reduce heat loss during cool nights so the pool remains nice and warm during the day. Evaporation is reduced as well. The discs are durable and I expect them to last through several summers, if not longer. The only drawback was that we mis-calculated how many boxes we needed. We thought 4 boxes would be plenty but we actually needed 6 boxes. I see where other customers had this same issue of not ordering enough the first time. Keep this in mind and maybe order one more box than what you think you will need. Otherwise, I am thrilled with this product.

(5 out of 5 stars) Great way to warm water
Reviewed By: Lynn G. from Feasterville Trevose, PA ()
Pros: Actually does warm the water very well
Cons: A bit cumbersome to put together and take out of pool.
The 6 pack looked like a good deal and a great way to try out how well they actually heat the pool. They cover about 1/2 of my pool and so far I've seen the water warm up a good 10 degrees more than it did without them. They're a bit cumbersome to put together outside the pool, but it's worth it for the warmer water. I was thinking about getting 6 more just to cover the whole pool, but I don't think I need them.

(5 out of 5 stars) great concept and design: much easier than giant cover!
Reviewed By: Elaine H. from hackettstown, NJ ()
We got these because we have a large, irregular shaped inground pool and a solar cover would be extremely difficult, large, and heavy to handle. The solar discs are made from the same material as a solar cover, so they do the same job: but they are smaller, so much easier to handle, and I have my kids get in the pool to velcro them all together. They are easy to take off, and we store them in a pile off to the side of the pool. They do work best if you velcro all of them together, and they stay together and float as one that way. Sometimes the edges will roll up if they are not velcro'd properly. Overall: a great product. Lightweight: easy for a child to put on, take off, and carry. We had originally tried another brand of a similar product and they were horrible.

I loved the idea of these disks, but the only way we can get them on the pool flat is to actually get in the pool to do it. You need to physically get in and stick all the edges together. It takes about 10 minutes in our pool and we have about 15 discs. Need to find another systemmmm

Pros: Easy to use
Cons: When not connected together, the discs tend to roll up slightly.
I am really glad I decided to order the 6 pack of solar discs. They are easy to use, and really do help to heat the pool water in the spring. When we first filled the pool, we put these discs on top of the water. The water was warm enough to swim in no time. These seemed to work better when hooked together. When we separated them, they seemed to want to curl up. Now that we no longer need them, they are very easy to store, and will be ready for next year.

Note that the 5 foot dimension is from one vertex to the opposing vertex, not from one side to another; this is a point of ambiguity on the web site. I ordered 30 for a pool with a recommended number of 22 on the web page, and ended up using 27.
