What is the voltage on this unit? How long is the manufactures warranty? If the system requires repairs during warranty, what do I do?

This pump runs on 115V power. This unit comes with a 1 year manufacturer's warranty. If the pump needed repair, you would call Hayward directly and they would put you in touch with a warranty service station in your area.

what size hoses does this take and does it comes with hoses, clamps? does it include everything to just hook up to the pool?
also, is this a 21" sand filter and how much sand does it take??

Yes this comes with all the hoses and clamps needed to just hook up, the hoses are 1.5". This is a 21" sand filter which requires 250 Lbs. of sand.

When should I change the sand in my filter?

You should change the sand in your filter every 5-7 years. You can generally tell that it is time if your pool water is not as clear as it normally is or when you notice the interval between backwashes is shorter. You can use > this guide to walk you through it.

What is the maximum size pool that this pump and filter would work with? I have a 15x25 oval and want to make sure that this would work well. thanks

Hi Dan, this system would be more than adequate for 15' x 25' aboveground pool. This filter system could handle up to a 21' x 43' oval aboveground pool.

I can't get the top off the pump basket off. Is there a trick to this. The O ring has been greased and I can't get it to budge. Thanks for any advice.

Tom, Try using a large strap wrench to twist it off. Then clean the O-ring grooves and replace the old O-ring with a new one - lubricate.

Excellent system. My pool is crystal clear and the motor is quiet and powerful. I was able to change my system from a cartrridge filter to my new sand filter system in about 1 hr. I love the ease of turning the valve to back wash the system instead of the time consuming chore of cleaning a cartridge. I should have changed my system a long time ago.

This is an awesome product, it works great! Moves water great and cleans water much better & quicker than cartridge systems. Less expensive to operate even if you have to change sand it's half the cost of an cartridge. Had this pool 18 years and look forward to using it several more years.

Excellent system - very easy to maintain! INYO pricing was EXCELLENT and product was shipped VERY quickly. I switched from a D.E. system to this sand filter and would never go back. Keeps water very clean with a handful of backwashes per season.
