Does this product install (two black wire) directly to existing circuit breaker(s) or do I need to install a new dedicated breaker(s) for this to install to?

The surge protector comes with 3 wires (2 black and 1 white). The white serves as the ground and the black would be the power lines. You can install it in an existing box. Can I install in the same 20amp breaker that I use for the pool pump?

Hi, Breaker. Yes, you can. This item can be installed on an electrical sub-panel (load center) or on an individual piece of equipment. When installed on an electrical sub-panel or load center, the PS3000 protects all equipment connected to that panel. Please refer to the PS3000  Intermatic PS3000 Instruction Sheet.

Do you install the two black wires -1 with red and 1 with blue into the same 20 amp 2 pole breaker - as there is only 1 screw for each pole. OR do you need to do another separate breaker?

I read this has a $7500 connected equipment warranty. Does this apply to the variable speed pump motor ecm16? So if the electronics die within 3 years it would be covered?

Hi, Evan. The warranty only applies to equipment that the Surge Protector is protecting including variable speed pumps and motors. The failure of the product has to be the cause of the Surge Protector failing from a manufacturer defect, it will not cover installation or user error.

Power Surges

Written on 3/22/2020 by Guest

I have a lot of power surges in my neighborhood. I purchased this to prevent damage to my pool equipment. It its a relative easy install if you know about power. Do not attempt if you don't! Power can KILL you if you bump into the wrong thing in that panel!!!

Popped out a 3/4 access hole in my outdoor panel and used the lock nut to secure in place.

I then wired it up to the ground and 2 pole breaker that controls my equipment.

Were these instructions helpful?
