Product Description

It can be a challenge to keep the pH and chlorine levels of your pool in constant balance, rather than cycling up and down. The IntelliChem®chemical controller does it automatically by monitoring your pool's pH and sanitizer levels, and delivering just the right amount of chemicals. IntelliChem uses the same technology found in commercial installations, water parks, hotel and community pools. It can work independently, or together with Pentair automation products - so you can check your water chemistry at at glance.

?     Asked on 4/2/2019by W. Keith Duffy, Ph.D.

I am ready to buy Pentair 522622 IntelliChem Controller (with acid + chlorine tanks), but I have one question: Though I know it will vary from pool to pool, how often do the 4 gal tanks need to be refilled in general? Pool is 13k gals, in-ground, fiberglass. Why I ask: For 6-7 consecutive weeks each year, I am not at my residence in FL with the pool. During that time, it has a safety cover on it, but no maintenance. Would the tanks run dry if I topped them off before I leave? Thanks for helping.

Hi Keith, For the acid tank 4 gallons should be more than sufficient. For the chlorine tank 4 gallons will be pushing it for 6-7 weeks however if you make sure your stabilizer levels (CYA) is at the proper levels before you leave then the 4 gallons of chlorine should be fine. You could also throw a floating chlorine dispenser in the pool with some tablets prior to leaving just to be on the safe side. Just make sure your CYA is good and you will be fine.
