is the pld 70 filter made in the usa?

The Sta-rite company, Sta-rite.com, is located in both Canada and the US. I have no information on where the cartridges are manufactured. I would recommend contacting them, with the link I provided above, as they will have the information you are requesting.

Does the outlet port of the (27002-00365) DE filter need some kind of gasket or o-ring where it joins with the filter housing (PLD 70) ? It seems like an awful sloppy fit without one yet I can't find reference to one in any literature.

Hi, Dna. I confirmed that there is not an o-ring that goes between the module and the based.

This is a good and reliable filter. It is only supposed to last for up to 3-4 years. Mine lasted 12 years. I replaced it with a new filter and will purchase another one because the price is very reasonable. A good company, received the product faster than expected, and will definitely refer to my neighbors with similar pool filter.
