How does the dual speed feature of this pump work?
Reply
Some dual speed pumps have a toggle switch in the back of the motor to change speeds manually, but many do not. Generally you would need to tie this dual speed pump into one of our dual speed pump timers/controllers. One of the more popular models is the Digital PE153 series. This timer has 3 functions: one to turn the pump on and off, a second auxiliary to switch from high speed to low speed, and then a third for any other piece of pool equipment. You may view these controllers through the following link: Intermatic Timers

I have Sta Rite Dura-Glas (not Dura-Glas II) that I need to replace. I dont see the entire pump listed for sale anywhere, only replacement parts. Do you have this pump? Is there another pump that would be a direct replacement?
Reply
You are correct, the Dura-Glas is no longer available as a whole unit, only parts are available. As for a true drop in replacement there is none but we do recommend the Max-E-Pro series as an equivalent and durable replacement.

I have this pump but it is leaking. Do you have the pump seal or anything equivalent that you would recommend....Thanks

Yes, you can use the GOKIT6 for the pre-1998 series and the GOKIT54 for the after series. If you are not sure which series that you have then you can just use the GOKIT54 and remove the copper cone that is in the motor shaft hole on the seal plate so the kit will work. You may also want to inspect the pump housing for any cracks or warped parts as well.

Hi, William. The SQS1102R motor along the Tune Up Kit - GOKIT54 are the replacement parts you will need for this model pump.

Is there a 110 volt version of this? Mine seems to be 110 with only three wires from the switch
how warm should this get when operating? mine is running a bit hot to the touch
Reply
Hi, Kelcie. The ambient temperature rating is on the motor label most are rated at 40 or 50 degrees. That means that it can operate at that temperature over the ambient air temp.

(5 out of 5 stars) 25 yrs on the old; how many on the new?

The pump & filter is great. It was a replacement for a similar earlier model, that has done some 25 years of service. I had replace various parts 2 years ago--after 23 years of service--and now the bearings became very noisy. Hence the need for a new pump/filter. If a product lasts 25 years, I tend to get a replacement from the same company--if they are still in business. Service--order and shipment from INYOpools.com--was hassle-free, as all purchases I have made from them.

I've had the P2RA5YF-125L pump on my spa for 27 years. I use the spa every morning. In 1995, the pump motor was completely submerged in water because of heavy rain. After a good drying and cleaning, I turned it on. It worked fine until July of 2009. Now that's service. The pump is still good but the motor is finally gone. Rather than replace the motor, I decided to replace the whole pump with its current version, the P2RA5YF-182L. I turned it on yesterday and it's doing fine
