Can I install this light in the floor of a pond?

According to the manufacturer, you can install the BUDDY-LITE-W-80 Buddy White LED Pool Light in the floor.  However they did note that this light will not install flush so you would need to be very careful to not step on the light. The Buddy Lights must be installed at a minimum depth of 4 inches.

The Buddy light appears to be black. Do I need to use a black wall fitting?

The color of the wall fitting will not matter since the Buddy Light will cover the entire fitting.  For concrete/gunite pool installation, you can use a standard 1.5" Hayward Slip Wall Fitting.  For fiberglass or vinyl pool installation, you can use a Hayward Fiberglass Wall Fitting.
