Will a gas heater operate at the low speed of a dual speed motor?
Reply
Probably not - Most gas heater will shut off at low GPM levels (20-40) to keep the heater cores from overheating - 20 for 200 BTUs, 40 for 400 BTUs. Depending on your pool system you might get these GPM levels at the low speed but generally these heaters must be run at the motor's high speed.

Which models work with Saltwater pools? And which model would be best and why?

Hi Robert, For a salt pool we would suggest a heater with a Cupro Nickel Heat Exachanger as the Cupro Nickel Heat Exchanger is designed to withstand the rigorous demands of a salt pool. I like the Raypak Cupro Nickel Heaters as they have been a great heater for us with few issues.

I have a 12 yr old Laars Lite 2 heater for my 100 gallon in ground spa. recently it will not ignite. I had the gas man come by and he noted that the wire going to the igniter (that opens the gas line to the burners) has no electricity flowing. All the other wires around it have electricity flowing. I cannot find a local pool company that works on this heater. Can you refer me to a local service? Bakersfield, CA or if it is a simple fix, advise me on what I need to do to repair it?
