A comment more than a question.....the last filter I got from you still looks new and white but since my husband passed away, I had a neighbor change the cartridge for me and the handle broke off in his hand...never had this happen before. My husband always ordered from you....has this been a problem? I'm about to order a new one but don't want the same thing to happen.

Hi Joan, I'm sorry to hear about your husband. The handle breaking has not been a common issue with this cartridge.

There should be a label on the side of your filter, could you supply us with the information from that label? Or there should be a part # embossed into the plastic end cap of the cartridge, could you supply us that information? Simply click the reply link below to provide the requested information so we may make the appropriate suggestion.

No Flow

Written on 4/22/2019 by Guest

We could not figure out why the flow was so bad. We cleaned the filter every 3 or 4 days. We finally ordered a new filter and the flow is perfect. We were told if we cleaned the filter we would not need a new one for a couple of years. That was not true. The pool is only 6 months old.

Was not sure i would like a cartridge filter after having DE forever, but it seems to be easier to take of and does not require a lot of time!

Old filter cartridge. Had to clean the old filter cartridge every few days.

The new filter cartridge was shipped quickly. The cartridge is slightly different than the original Jacuzzi brand cartridge, as it does not have a handle on the top. But at less than half the price of the local pool store, I can live without the handle.
To install the new cartridge, shut the filter off, and then shut off the ball valve leading to the filter inlet. Then loosen the pressure relief screw at the top of the filter housing cover to relieve the pressure. Then unscrew the locking ring that holds the filter housing cover in place. Then pull straight up to remove the filter housing cover. This then reveals the filter cartridge which can be removed by pulling straight up. The new filter cartridge can then be placed back into the filter. The cover can be placed back on, and the locking ring screwed back in place. At this point the ball valve can be opened, and the power turned back on. Keep the pressure relief screw open until a steady stream of water is discharged from the screw. At that point the pressure relief screw can be tightened and the installation is complete.
