I am in need of some type of putty to seal the hole (underwater) where the pool light wiring goes through the pool light niche wire hole - I do not want anything that completely hardens - there is no product description on the putty product on your site - will this putty stay pliable? - will it work for this application? - do I really need to seal this hole anyway?

Hi Jim, Normally for sealing the hole in the niche where the cord goes, you would use a Light Cord Stopper. Take a look at the cord stoppers and if this does not look like what you need let me know and I will dig a little deeper on your question about the pliability of the putty.

Any word on how this stuff hardens? Is it paintable?

Like dried bubble gum. What will the application be on. You could paint it but it may flake off.
