Adhesive For Valve Seat Gasket - 81731
**Note: The brand may vary.**
Apparently LOCTITE 401, 403, and 416 are "instant bond" surface insensitive adhesives similar in appearance to superglue. The Permatex Super Weatherstrip Adhesive allows some repositioning before developing a good bond.
I appreciate the instructional video on your site. I have a Pentair TM-22 that I replaced the spider gasket on before seeing these instructions. I didn't use either glue or lubricant and the gasket did not last long before it failed. I hope try #2 lasts longer..

Yes, that adhesive is great to use for that kind of valve gasket. It keeps the gasket in place so it does not move around as well as lubricates to help last longer.

I just bought a multi-valve spider gasket to replace in my SM20-2 Praher unit. The original gasket was glued solid. Your video shows putting glue at points around the edge. The old one was very difficult to remove. Must I glue the new one solid or can I glue it at points around the edge as your video shows?

Hi, Joni. Follow the instructions in our How To Guide. It will be easier to remove and install in the future.

How long do i need to wait for this glue to dry? Instructions on their website say 24-72 hours?

If it was me and I was given a window of 24-72 hours I would wait the 72 hours to make sure it works properly.

The product actually sent is E6000 3.7oz. Its self leveling which is good but it needs to come with a pointy end tip to apply a thin bead. I was using it to seat a spider gasket in multipart valve. It gets messy without some type of tip on the glue tube. Takes 48 hours to cure.

(2 out of 5 stars) Received E6000

I ordered this adhesive after reading in Inyo instructions how is was "special". Cost was about $37.00. I received a tube of standard E6000 (Med viscosity) which is available from any big box or retail hardware store for under $9.00. Needless to day, I returned it to Inyo. No issue with the return other than another $8.00 in postage and having to ship to a separate return address than an o-ring I also returned..
