This is a round, tapered, plastic basket used in the Hayward SP1070 Series, and Sta-Rite / SwimQuip U-3 Skimmers. Other markings that may be on skimmer besides part number is "8650-21" molded into the top rim.
This is also a replacement for the Pentair 516112.

Which basket is correct......they all appear to use the same part number, but the 3 pictures appear to be different.
The 2 end pictures appear to have a more slanted sidewall and the center picture has a less slanted side wall
and looks more like my skimmer basket

Hi, Raymond. They're all the same dimensionally, the angle in which the picture was taken make it look a little different.

Can this product, Part #4042-15, basket skimmer, metal handle be removed to place skimmer sock?

Hi Jennie, yes it can be removed to add a Skimmer Sock to help your filter stay cleaner longer.
