The basket is plastic with an aluminum handle. I can't understand why it sells for $53.00 that to me is outrageous.

Pros: Simple design
Cons: None
Purchased a home with no information about the in-ground pool. Searched the web for "swimming pool basket skimmer" and found what I thought may be a replacement. The skimmer basket fit exactly and should last another 20 years.
