So I replaced my AO SMITH/CENTURY CENTURION , 2HP, B855 motor with the variable motor ECM27SQU. I replaced my old diffuser with the new one 35-5294. but some how there were 2 "tips" that i had to remove to make it flush with the part underneath. Was that normal ?
the reason of my question, is when the motor/pump starts, it makes a squeeqy type of noise for 1 second or 2 before it goes on regular noise. see the file attached.
You should not have had to remove the 2 tips. We have to believe it is the wrong diffuser. We need the pump model info off of the original pump set up to verify.

i had asked to make sure i had the correct part. here is the info again.
what will happen if the pump is left like this? (was a little bit of a challenge to install already).
With the B855 motor that is being used the correct diffuser would be part number 5002-06B.

not sure if you got my question right : i am REPLACING my B855 with the ECM27SQU. i am NOT looking for the diffuser to go with B855. I need the correct diffuser to go with ECM27SQU. I had asked twice before purchasing it online and was told I needed 35-5294, But like i said below, i had to remove the tips to make it work. Not sure if this is what creates the loud/squeequing noise when the motor starts.
