How can I use this CX250Z14A drain plug to help drain water out of my pool?

You can use this plug in a number of ways to drain your pool. One way is by simply unthreading it, taking it off and running the pool pump and it will drain right there. Might flood a bit in that area but it will work The second and likely the most efficient way is by removing the plug completely and installing a metal spicket so that you may hook up a standard water hose there allowing you to discharge the water where you please.

Hello, your filter system does not have a backwash or drain feature to drain water out. You could open the drain plug on the base of the filter and help eliminate water that way, but the adjoining equipment may prevent that. You could also use a Sump Pump, that is available at any local hardware store, to drain water out of your pool.

I have the Star Clear Plus C 12002, What size of metal spicket would I install into the drain plug to use when I need to drain the pool?

Hi, SC. A ½" 14 NPSM Spicket is needed for the C12002 filters.
