should I use an adhesive compound to hold gasket hwsp 1600-s in place?

Negative. Do not use an adhesive on this gasket. Just standard o-ring lubricant. One type is magic lube.

If I order this product, do I also need gasket cement and if so what do you recommend ? Thanks

Hi. You will only need to use a little Magic Lube O-ring Lubricant - 630 when installing this o-ring.

I need a new gasket for Hayward super pool pump. SP 2607X10. I bought what I thought was correct a year ago, it doesn't fit. I find SP's but not the SP 2607X10.

Hello, the pump that you have is the SP2607X10. For the gaskets, you can either go with the GOKIT3 or the GOKIT3SALT.

I ordered this gasket and it is about 1/2 inch to large, I've looked and can't seem to find the correct one. I had ordered a kit that was for Hayward super pump series 1600,2600,2600x and I thought based on the measurements the one I ordered which was item number 5110-04 was supposed to be smaller than the first one but they are both the same size and both are slightly too large to seal. Is there one smaller than this one?

Karen, It sounds like you have the correct gasket for the Hayward Super Pump. The gasket is slightly larger so it has to be worked into place for a tight seal.

Leak

Written on 4/12/2022 by Guest

I was between buying a new pump and replacing my Hayward super pump. The more I thought about it I figured I’d give it a shot with repairing it. So when I called to get the parts, the person I talked to was very professional. A lot of good information ended up taking the whole pump apart finding out which gasket needed to be replaced. Actually bought the whole kit and while I had a part, I replaced all the gaskets. It went back together very easily. I’ve got it hooked up now and things are going well. thanks, inyopool.com!

The old gasket was shooting out water when turning off pump.

I located the gasket at inyopools.com
Ordered the gasket that was made to fit the Hayward pump and it arrived within the week.
After installing the new gasket, there was no more water leakage.

Air Getting Into Pump

Written on 4/1/2019 by Greg L.

Remove the old seal, clean out any glue/grease, etc.

Just install the new seal, use some water based grease on the bottom side to hold in place and replace the cover.

Simple.
