Screwdriver, Wrench Set
didn't have a good strap wrench and broke a perfectly good impeller ! [ the noise was from a bad motor ball bearing [ $8] and easy to replace . It was for a Century 1 hp motor on a Pentair whisper flow pump. about 2 yrs old [ why did it go bad ??],

(5 out of 5 stars) Replace as part of routine pump rebuild

I replaced the diffuser assembly and impeller in my pump after years of operation, when it seemed to become weaker. The impeller had debris in the ways and erosion of the stem against the brass seal of the diffuser. After the replacement, it worked fine. To remove the impeller, it will be necessary to take the back off of the motor so that you can immobilize the motor shaft. Once you do that, remove the screw in the center of the impeller, and then unscrew the impeller from the shaft. Note the backwards threads! That's so that things won't come loose as the motor rotates.
