our heater is 10 years old. sometimes when you press the on off buttons do not light up. How often do these need to be replaced. Or can they be cleaned?

Roblyn, These parts don't come with an expiration dated but if it's 10 years old you can replace it and see if that fixes the problem.

Hi, I have a Laars LT heater that no longer works. When I open the excess door, I notice one of the power wires had broken at the wire nut connector. I fixed that and still do not get power to the control board. Could the broken wire maybe shorted out my control board?

Hi, It can be a number of this including what you've mentioned. I would recommend that you have a technician take a look at it to find out what's wrong.

Hi, Richard. Unfortunately, there is not an alternate replacement for this obsolete Jandy controller.
