How can I test the flow switch to see if it is still working?
Reply
With the pump off, you can unthread the flow switch from the tee and press the two metal tabs together. If the flow indicator on the control panel is off when then two pieces are pressed together and red when they are apart, the flow switch is working.

Researched the DIY section on the InyoPools website. Located the exact replacement part I needed. Watched the video on how to replace it while it shipped. It arrived 2 days after I ordered and it took about 5 minutes to make the repair and the salt system is happy again and the pool looks great.

I used INYOs instruction info and shorted the flow switch contacts together with a screwdriver after removing the the line from the flow switch, which verified that the flow switch was bad. I replaced the switch following INYO's instructions after a quick delivery of a replacement from them and everything is working again.

Pros: Easy swap out
Cons: Cord is a bit long
30% Cheaper than what my local pool store wanted to charge me (and that was before shipping) I was a bit intimated,at first, but it's a simple, simple install. If you live in an area where your pool will go below 50' in the winter, I'd suggest keeping the "broken" Flow Switch and put it back in during the winter. Saving the new flow switch only for when the water is above 50'

Pros: delivered quickly with easy to follow instructions
Cons: very expensive
The Aquaflow logic switch is required for the salt chlorinator to work. I had not choice but to order it, and it is very expensive. INYO Pools, however, delivered the product quickly with easy-to-install instructions so my pool was up and running in 24 hours. No chance to turn green and no chemicals to purchase. Happier with INYO Pool service than the product.
