4-WAY BALL VALVE WG
I need a replacement for the 4 way ball valve and I think this model has no threads on the ports. I need the ports with threads. Is the Ltd Qty Ball Valve, 3 Way, 1 1/2" Skt - 6651E the same modle but with threaded ports.
Thanks, Doug

Hi, Doug. Part # 6651E is a 3 way version of this 4 valve. The ports are threaded and are 1-1/2" FIP.

The ports are threaded on the SP735 ball valve correct? Mine is about 30 years old and is at the suction of teh pump and seems to be leaking air. It would probbly be easier to replace the whole valve rather than rebuild with parts.

I purchased the Hayward 4 way ball valve SP0735 and want to attach it to bottom of my skimmer. The opening for skimmer is a female threaded 1 1/2 inch opening so it's the same as the ports on the valve. What can I use to connect the two? Can't seem to find a male double threaded nipple or union connector or parts that would seem to work. Can you tell me how to connect?

Hi, Robin. You will have to make the connection using (2) 1-1/2" MPT Fitting and a piece of 1-1/2" PVC pipe.

Okay thanks. I did find a male part that has 2 sides threaded (nipple) and hoping that will work. If not, I will try this. Thanks!

I just had the Hayward 4 way ball valve installed. During normal pool use with the pump running, how should the valve be turned? Is port 1 supposed to turned to full or is it supposed to be half and half?

Hi Tiffany, unfortunately, no 2 pool systems are plumbed the same so I would suggest having a service company perform a site evaluation or sometimes referred to as a pool school so they can advise how your valve can and should be arranged based on your particular pool system set up.
