What is the Bumper Pad? I have a SP1071 skimmer the front plate is cracked off so the weir door sticks. I'm assuming the broken piece is the bumper pad but I'm not sure. Thanks

On the back side of the weir is a raised section that holds a plastic sponge that helps it float back up and hold the filtered items in skimmer. The bumper pad is the raised area and this pad.

Take a look at the photo of the opening for my skimmer where the weir door goes.
There does not appear to have the two holes on either side where the spring loaded pins would go in.
Will this replacement door still work?

Hi Tom, it is a bit hard to read but there is a part number molded on the plastic of the trim of the weir door visible. That weir part number should come up with a result on our web site.

Weir easy to install (just push it in) and regulates water flow at changing water levels. Watch for occasional leaves or other items stuck above itand just pull them out.

Keeps water flow at a consistent rate into skimmer. I do think pool would be fine without it though
