Can this cooling system be used with a salt water pool?
Reply
All of the chillers we carry are salt water compatible. After a couple of weeks of usage, spray down the pool cooler with a garden hose to wash off salt residue if any.

Reply
Depending on the part of the country, the use of a pool cover to limit the amount of direct sunlight and a outside temperature of 80f the tech support at Glacier said that you should expect a 10-12 degree drop. There are just a number of variables to take into account.

Hello, I just purchased a pool chiller from your company. Prior to the chiller my pool has been unusable. It's temperature was 95 degrees before installation of the chiller. Now it is a refreshing 83 degrees. I cannot recommend your company enough. It is very rare that a product lives up to it's rputation, but yours certainly does. Thank you again.

(5 out of 5 stars) Best investment I ever made in my pool
Reviewed By: Rocha from Hurst, TX ()
Pros: Cheaper to operate than a heat pump, much cheaper unit cost than a heat pump.
Cons: Higher water loss from the pool, no safety switch to turn of the pool pump if the sump pump goes out.
I installed this myself three weeks ago, it works very well; we run it for 9 hours during the coolest part of the night. With 100+ degree weather for months now, this unit has kept our pool cooled down to 83 degrees in the morning up to around 87 in the afternoon. My pool is a 3'-5'-4' depth pool, in full sun all day - we are amazed. Before, our pool water was getting up to body temperature in the afternoon. My only concern is that there is no safety swith to turn off the pool pump in case something ever happens with the sump pump in the unit. The fan is a little noisy, but not too bad.

Our pool temp was 98 after several days of outside temps over 100 degrees. We got it running at 8:30 one evening. The next morning the water had dropped 7 degrees. After another day and night, the water temp was 86, a total of 12 degree drop. Rained the next day, and along with the chiller running, the temp dropped two more degress to 84. The next day, 82. I highly recommend it!

(5 out of 5 stars) Great pool cooler
Reviewed By: swimfin from Pineville, LA ()
Pros: Great cooler, low electricty usage
Cons: noisy
We ordered this pool cooler after we could not use our pool in June of '09 due to the dry, hot, early summer here in Louisiana. My husband and his brother (they are both pretty handy) installed the cooler in one afternoon. It cooled the pool down to a comfortable temp. in less than one 24 hour period. In 48 hours it was a very enjoyable cool temp. We were concerned about our electric bill going up with the use of the cooler but we saw very little increase in our bill, it's about like running a box fan, that was a pleasant surprise.

I built one of these pool chillers from plans on the internet, it was OK, this one rocks, My pool water was 96 degrees during the hot summer months, I refused to get in it. Now when it is 105 outside my pool water is 84 degrees, I come home from a long hot day and jump in a refreshing cool pool.
