Granular Chlorine - Pool Solutions Stabilized Chlorine Granules
Pool Solutions fast dissolving granules offer 55% available stabilized chlorine to deliver immediate results.

I'm looking for pool shock to sanitize my drinking water. Will this work?

I have heard of people using pool shock to sanitize drinking water but I can not promote the use of any pool shock for this purpose. You will want to contact the NSF for further information.

How do I break chlorine lock?
Reply
One of the main reasons that chlorine can become "locked" is that too much stabilizer has accumulated over the course of time. Stabilizer (cyanuric acid) can build up over a long period of time, sometimes months or even years. Once the stabilizer reaches high levels, the chlorine in the water is useless. The only way to break the lock is to reduce the level of cyanuric acid in the pool. The quickest way to do this is to add fresh water to the pool. This will help dilute the acid levels in the pool so that the chlorine will become more effective. Pools should be partially drained and refilled (every 3 years or so).

My pool is 12,000 gallons and it is situated in the tropic, Ponce, Puerto Rico. I has been built since march 2016 . The question is: why do I have to keep adding granular chlorine every other day to keep my chlorine on an optimal level ? A five pound container last a week or week and a half is it normal or no?
Reply
Hi, Adding granulated chlorine daily to your pool is normal only if your Cyanuric Acid (CYA ) is not at the proper level to maintain an idel chlorine level. You can read more about this relationship in our Blog titled The Relationship Between Chlorine and Cyanuric Acid.

After searching for a reasonably priced 3" tab chlorine, I settled on purchasing from INYOPools.com. I've purchased there several times. Shipping, communication and the products are all top notch. No need to look anywhere else for pool chemicals.

Pros: Large size means lower price per pound.
Cons: A bit bulky to move around.
First time I've used this brand. Product weight OK. Lid uses thumb release lever which works more easily than some. Small granules dissolve quickly. I've seen good shelf life with other Dichlor brands.

Chlorine is a great price and it is a great product. Very easy to use and comes with a scoop, although I use a bigger scoop since I have a very big pool and use lots of chlorine. I use this in conjunction with the sticks or tablets.

Great chlorine, great price. I have ordered from 3 online pool companies and this was the best price of any of them. The chlorine seems to be working great even tho I just received it and have only used a few times.

Pros: Price

Good product but would recommend to pack the granules inside a plastic bag rather than dumping them directly into the bucket. The reason being chlorine can vaporize when opening the lid & can be harmful.
