I'm restoring a pool that been empty for about 8 years - the pool is roughly 22500 to 23000 gallons - the piping is 1 1/2 inch. The pool filter and pump were missing - I want to install a variable pump and a cartridge filter - what other information do I need to provide to get a good match for a pump and filter for this project?

Hi Charles, there are a few variables to consider when sizing a pump and filter. Here two guides called "How to Size a Pool Pump for Your In-Ground Pool" and "How To Size a Pool Filter" that should help with that.

I have Sta-Rite Max-E Pro 2HP pump and I want to replace with a variable speed pump. What is my best option? The least amount of re-plumbing the better.
