Installation Suggestions:
When possible, we suggest installing a check valve on the suction side of the pump. The installation of a check valve will help re-priming your pump as it will keep water in your pump basket and make for easier start-up.
Pump Plumbing
There are many different ways a pool pump can be plumbed due to space requirements, existing plumbing, water features, etc... Due to these scenarios, we have listed some general best practices to adhere to when plumbing a pool pump.
Pool Plumbing Best Practices
Check Valve Placement
1.5” Plumbing - Check valve not to be placed within 7.5” of pump suction port
2” Plumbing - Check valve not to be placed within 10” of pump suction port
2.5” Plumbing - Check valve not to be placed within 12.5” pump of the suction port
Piping
Example: A 2.5” pipe requires a 12.5” straight run in front of the suction inlet of the pump. This will help the pump prime faster and last longer.
Note: Do NOT install 90-degree elbows directly into the pump inlet or outlet.

How many hours per day should I run my pump?
Reply
There are many factors to consider; bather load, gallons of water, pump horsepower, type and size of filter just to name a few. A good guideline is 8-10 hours a day. On the cooler days and early and late season, you can cut the run time down to 4-6 hours because there is usually less swimmers and cooler water requires less chemicals. In peak season, when it is the hottest, raising the run time to 10-12 hours per day will help to keep the pool clean and circulating during it’s time of heaviest use.

what do you mean 115/220 volts?
Reply
Hello Ronald, this means that whether you have 115 or 220 volts for power running your pool pump you can set this pump to either voltage and it is compatible. I have also emailed you an estimate attached to your account with us that you can convert to an order if you choose to purchase this pump. It is currently in stock as well.

1. Shut off breaker
2. Remove bolts , old plumbing and electrical connection.
3. Remove old pump.
4. Attach new pump and motor as per instruction sheet. This on lined up exactly with my old one, making this an easy swap!!
5.Attach electrical connection.
6. Turn on breaker.
7. Turn pump motor at timer.
8. Prime and listen to one of the most quiet pool pumps I have had in the 34 years I have owned my fiberglass inground pool.
9. Swim because it's in the 90s here already ! The only reason I rated it moderate was a bit heavy lifting the pump. I am a very handy 68 year old woman. If I could do it, you can. Instruction sheet included was very specific. I ordered online after chatting with support to make sure it was a good fit :)

Had to add about 6 inches of wire and use wire caps to make connections, attach the 6 inch pieces before you bring the wire in for the power. The motor was longer than my last pump needed to do some extra plumbing.

First turned off all power to my pool system. I removed the old pump and motor. Next I checked the voltage so I would have my new pump and motor set right. I re-piped my connections for the pump after making sure the rest of piping system good. Hooked up pump and re-wired to my new motor. Tested system, everything worked great and my pool is back to normal working order.
