will this work with a 1.5 hp motor if not what size do i need to get

Brenda, I would recommend the 24" Sand Filter Top Mount. It would offer you better filtration flow and less backwashing over time. This filter does also come with a 1-1/2" port multiport valve.

Hi, You will need a 1 1/2" x 3' Filter Connection Hose and a Combo Hose Adapter (spx1091z7) to connect your pump to the 16" Pool Sand Filter Top Mount (BC3040).

What size sand filter would i need for a 24 foot by 48 inch pool above ground?

HI Chris, The 16" Pool Sand Filter Top Mount (BC3040) will be a good size filter if you have a 3/4 Hp Pump. If you have a larger size pump then you will need a bigger size filter also.

Hi
I would like to double check my reasoning. I need to replace a Hayward S160T filter which split and this filter seems a good replacement. I have a 14,000 gallon pool with a 1 hp Hayward SP2607X10 pump. I estimate 60 feet of head which gives me a flow rate of 27 gpm per Hayward's table, which is well within the flow rate of the filter.
Thank you

If you have a 3/4 HP pump then this 16" sand filter would be fine for you, if you have a larger HP pump then I would suggest the 18" Hayward S180T Sand Filter.

I purchased a pool pump PL1502 from inyopools. 1.5hp for a above ground pool. Can I use the 16inch sand filter with it?

Hi, Sue. A 1.5 HP pump is a bit oversized for a 16" sand filter. I would recommend an 18" or higher.
