So if I have a sand filter that takes 175# of sand what of your product do I need?
Reply
If you have a 175 Lb. sand filter then we would suggest 87.5 lbs. of Zeobest (175 / 2) Since the Zeobest is only sold in 25 lb. increments you would need to purchase 100 lbs. You may view the 25 Lb Zeobest here http://www.inyopools.com/Products/01300006001557.htm and the 50 Lb. Zeobest here http://www.inyopools.com/Products/01301202001558.htm

What is Zeobest? Is it safe?
Reply
Zeobest is a great alternative to regular filter sand. It provides DE like filtration (filters down to 3 microns), it's lighter than sand so you half the amount compared to sand. It can also decrease the frequency of backwashing. Without getting scientifically complex Zeobest comes from zeolites. Zeolites are the deposits of volcanic ash from thousands of years ago. It is NSF approved which means that it meets national health and safety requirements. It's also safe to use in all sand filters.

How do you change the sand in a sand filter?

We have a really good guide with video here on How to replace the sand in your swimming pool filter

Are the change intervals longer with Zeosand, as compered to regular sand?
Reply
Brent, The Zeosand should be replaced as often as regular sand (3-5 years).

So u don’t have to replace regular sand or Zeosand for 3-5 years? So if u live in Iowa where you have freezing winters, u can just leave the sand and water in the sand tank? Do you need to add non-toxic antifreeze to it?

Hello, I need to change the media in my pool filter and I want a more efficient product. I've been researching zeosand but have not been able to access the manufacturer's website (ZeoSand | ZEO Inc., zeoinc.com/zeosand/). I've noticed the bag of zeosand on your website is different from the bags of zeosand sold on Amazon. Is it from the same manufacturer? Is it an updated product? I want to make sure I have what I am expecting and not a lesser substitute before purchasing. Thank you.

Hi. Zeo Inc is the leading manufacturer of ZeoSand but they are some substitution on the market. When you purchase this product from us, you will get the genuine product.

Hello, is there a spec sheet on Zeosand? What is its effective size and uniformity coefficient?
Reply
Hi, Sally. Here is a link to the Zeo Sand SDS it does not list anything regarding the uniformity coefficient.

How long does this material last? How often does it need to be replaced?
Reply
Hi Joe, Under normal conditions, ZeoSand will need to be replaced about as often as sand. After filter use, ZeoSand may be added to your garden or potted plants as a soil conditioner. ZeoSand may be discarded as a non hazardous waste
