Can I combine a 20k and a 10k winterizing kits for my 30k pool as Inyo seems to be out of 30k winterizing kits? My pool is 17’x39’ with a graduated 9’ depth on the deep end and 3.5’ depth on the shallow end with a 10’x 6’ spa spill over into the main pool, see attached photos.
Hello Don, yes you would be able to combine the kits to cover the size of the pool and meet the dosage requirements.

Hello! This the first above ground pool we've owned. We live in Southern CA and want to "close" the pool for the winter. We have an Intex 32' x 16' pool (almost 15,000 gallons), made of a plastic type of material. The pool came with a cover. How do we prepare the water so that algae doesn't grow from Oct - April, while it is kept covered?
We look forward to your response.

Hi Karen, be sure your pool is clean and the water is well-balanced before you put it to bed for the winter, follow the instructions on the winterizing chemicals, and you should have a clean pool in the spring when you reopen it. Check out our instructions on How To Close An Above Ground Pool for everything you need to know.

My pool Still has algea, and water is green, what you recommend to use to close the pool that s 16x32 inch w/ 3 feet in shallow and 6 feet at deep side. The issue is that I have to drail 12 inches of the water from the pool to below skimmer. What should I do for closing this pool?

Hi Farhad, we only recommend closing a pool that is in good condition - closing a pool with visible algae can make reopening it next year a nightmare. Be sure your pool is clean and the water is well-balanced before you put it to bed for the winter, follow the instructions on the winterizing chemicals, and you should have a clean pool in the spring when you reopen it. Our article on How to Clean a Green Pool? will help you clean it before you close it. Then you can read Closing Your Pool for the Winter for everything you need to know so your pool will stay clean until you reopen it.
