My spa drains when the pool pump is off. Will adding or replacing one of these fix this?
Reply
Yes that very well may solve the issue. Per gravity, a raised spa will drian into the pool if the check valve is bad or if there is not one there.

My raised spa drains back to the pool when the pump is off. My question is where do I place the check valve at? Do I put it after the chlorinator (check valve being the last thing out) or do I install it between the heater and chlorinator (check valve being second to the last thing out) chlorinator being last thing out??

Cheryl, You will need to install the check valve after the chlorinator, the check valve should be the last thing on the return to the Spa.

will this check valve work with flex lines? What parts do I need to use this on a flex line operation.

Hi Jerry, Check valves are not recommended to use with flex pipe, you will need the use PVC for the check valve then connect the PVC to the check valve using a 2" slip x slip coupling. You can find such coupling at your local hardware store.

The unions at the bottom of the check valve are still leaking. We changed the o-rings but it's still leaking. what could be wrong? Do we need another check valve with the new unions/nuts?
Reply
Joanie, If the check valve is still leaking after replacing the o-rings, there may be dirt/debris in the threads of the unions. If there isn't any, I would recommend replacing the check valve.

what is the over all length of the valve. I need to know how much pipe to cut out and if I even have the room left to attach it.

Hi Andy, The length of this valve is 8.345" including the unions.

When my pool pump is off the water flows back to the pool and the pump takes about 20 min to prime when back on. Can I install a check valve between the pump and the filter (sand). If installed before the pump and the basket there may be a problem with leaves, etc in the check valve.
Reply
It is more common to install a check valve in front of the pump and as long as the skimmer basket is catching most of the leaves and debris then it should be fine.

Is this valve corrosion resistant and can it be mounted vertically?
Reply
Yes, it can be mounted vertically, but keep in mind that when this valve is horizontal the spring tension is 1/2 pounds. Due to gravity the spring tension might increase so the pump will have to have a high enough flow rate.
Reply
Is this a flapper valve or a plunger type valve as l will be mounting it horizontally and a flapper valve will be better suited for the application.

Hello, this system uses a spring valve mechanism.

Does this check valve come with, or be able to use, Viton O rings? I ask this because the OEM O rings are not bleach resistant and will deteriorate within a couple of years.
Thank you,

Hi, Guy. This o-ring does not come with or have replacement viton o-rings.

Hi. Does anybody know the body length with the unions removed? My valve needs replacing and if I can just slip the new body in to replace the old valve body that would be WAY better. The spring check valve I have now (Flo D-2466) looks to be obsolete with no definitive replacement. My valve body is 5-3/16" end to end (unions removed).

Hi, Dave. This Check Valve is 5.12" without the unions.

Is there any pressure loss data available?

Hi, Hans. That info is listed on pages 25-28 of the NDS 2018 Product Catalog.
