How many feet of hose come with this cleaner and how do I determine if I need extra hose?

This cleaner comes with 32' of hose, the hoses come in 4' sections. A simple rule of thumb is to measure from the skimmer (or dedicated suction line) to the farthest point in the pool then add two (2) extra hose lengths. Rod, To operate the Hayward Diver Dave Automatic Swimming Pool Cleaner you need at least 32 GPM flow rate or a 3/4 HP pump.

does this purchase come with diver dave and wanda the whale? Also can I use this in a gunite pool with and odd shape? every video I have watch it has been liner pools.

It is not intended to be used in an in-ground gunite surface pool only above ground as stated in the AquaBug, Diver Dave, Wanda the Whale Owner's Manual. Hi . We bought a diver Dave and we can't get any suction. It makes our pump start sucking air and the device doesn't move at all. We have an index pool. Is there something special that we need to do? Do we need a real strong filter pump? Really wanted this thing to work,.....

Hi Nancy, If you have the original pump and filter that came with the Intex pool it will not provide enough suction to operate this cleaner. If not please provide the model number of the pump and filter that you have.

Diver Dave only rotates to the left, does not rotate to the right or go straight. i only used this unit 5 times . the unit scurries along the pool floor very quickly so it can't be the shoes and it cleans very well . have any idea's

Hello Marty,Have you checked the hoses to the cleaner, sometimes the hoses develop a memory in them. I would lay the hoses out in the sun for 24hrs to see if that solves your issue. If the issue persists I would contact Hayward tech support as there may be an issue with the internal gears to the cleaner. You will commonly see that if you get a lot of sand in your pool. As it tends to lock the gears up.

Will diver Dave work in above ground pool with a deeper end on one side. I have about a 6 foot wedge dug out on one side. Thanks

Our Hayward Mod 700 is in it's 3rd year. Just replaced the foot pads. The flaps and wings look to be in good shape. It will not now navigate in our 24' pool.
Hoses are clear and there is good suction (Hayward pump). I noticed that instruction #16 in the troubleshooting guide referred to an "adjustable cam" for the rear flap. The rear flap does not have the "spring back" action as the front flap does. This cleaner does not have a cam of any sorts. Your advice is appreciated. Al in Illinois.
