Do they make a left hand version? I need the water flow to be on the left side of electronic controls.

Hi, Wayne. These heaters are factory-shipped with the water connections on the right side. They can be switched to the left side in the field by a technician.

I have an 18 x 36 in ground pool. I have a 12 year old Hayward H200 Btu heater which must be replaced. Is this Trane ( Hayward) 250k BTU propane for an in ground or above ground pool? Is there both a natural gas model as well as a propane model? If and when I am ready to purchase the appropriate heater how long is delivery time? I can also be reached at 412-302-2421. I live in Bellevue ( Pittsburgh, Pa. 15202.

Hi Bob, The Trane heater can be used on an inground or above ground pool. The TR250LP is for Propane, we don't currently have the Trane 250 in natural gas. We do carry the Hayward 250,000 Natural Gas Heater which is the exact same heater but with the Hayward label on it instead of the Trane label. Delivery time is 5-7 business days.

Does it use propane and if so how big of a propane tank and how long will it last before I have to change it

Hi, Sergio. This unit does run off of propane. It uses 2.5 gallons per hour to operate, you will have to check with your city or gas company to find out what size tank is required.

I currently have a 400k BTU Hayward Heater, it was over sized. If I order the 250k BTU (Propane) are the plumbing connections the same? Thanks

So, that is the PSI range (i.e. 0 - ?) 2nd question: is there a operational difference between SPA & Pool mode other then temp settings? I'm using a JANDY controller w/remote temp sensor that utilizes separate programs for SPA & POOL temp adjustment. Therefore, the 24V control to the TR250LP could be either to the SPA or POOL connection? Thank you for your help - Ken

Hi Ken, We found this website which gives some great instructions on how to operate the Hayward Heater Pressure Switch the PSI pre-set by Hayward and they do not give what this rating is, however the PSI is adjustable. There is not an operational difference between pool and spa is just the temperature setting.

Would this model be a direct replacement for a Hayward H250 HDP? Would all existing plumbing match up?
 Reply

Hi Charles, Yes this model will be a direct replacement for a Hayward H250 HDP and all existing plumbing will match up. We currently only have 5 more in stock at this price and we have been selling several a day, if you are interested in this heater I would suggest purchasing in the next day or so.
