What's the difference between the Hayward Universal ColorLogic light and the Hayward Universal ColorLogic ProLogic Networked LED lights?
Reply
The Hayward Universal ColorLogic light is the newer standard LED light and is controlled by toggling the light switch on and off. The Hayward Universal ColorLogic ProLogic Networked light are the same but can be controlled with the ProLogic PS series systems.

What is the difference between the hayward universal colorlogic And the hayward colorlogic 4.0 ?
Reply
The Hayward Universal Colorlogic is either 12V or 120V, the Colorlogic is only 120V. The Universal has breathtaking 10 fixed colors and 7 color changing shows, while the ColorLogic 4.0 starts with five fixed colors that can be enhanced with seven color-changing shows. The biggest difference is the voltage capabilities.

does this include a niche or do you have to buy one separately, any suggestions?

The light fixture does not include the niche. I would recommend the UCL All Plastic Niche, Shallow LFGUY1000 that works with concrete/gunite pools.

Does the Hayward Universal light work with the Jandy Aqualink system?

Hello Kristen, Jandy Aqualink network systems can turn this Universal ColorLogic Pool Light 12V 100' Cord just on and off. It will not be able to switch the color of the light.

I need the screw to secure my light to my pool. It's LPCUS11100. My other broke off.

What is the difference between network and standard switching.

The network switching is meant to be used to orchestrate light shows, while standard switching is used more commonly in the standard pool.

Is there a reason my transformer would be wired for 14V when this light is listed as a 12V light? Thanks!

Hi, Rob. Yes, see the "Cord Length and Minimum Required Voltage" which is on page 4 of the ColorLogic & CrystaLogic Installation Manual.

Does this come with two lights? Also will it fit in the old versions niche.

This is one light and it will fit in most old version Hayward and Pentair niches. Can you give us any nameplate data on your old light or niche?

Colorlogic 4.0 model number SP0527LED30
Thanks for the photo! Yes this will fit in the same niche. The SP0527LED30 is 120V and this light is 12V you will need a 12VTransformer if you change to this light. Here you can view the Hayward SP0527LED30 Light. A light you might consider is the PureLine PureColors LED light. The great thing about PureColors is if the bulb goes bad then the bulb can be replaced, on the ColorLogic the bulb can’t be replaced. On a PureColors it's an easy 30-minute bulb change for $150, on a ColorLogic it's an expensive ($600+) all day labor-intensive light fixture change. For multiple lights then you need all lights to be the same model & brand to be on the same color rotation.

How do you verify if your existing light is 12v or 120v? Also there has never been a transformer. Existing light has been wired to and operates from a Hayward panel. Do I need a transformer box? The photo is the back of the existing light. Thanks

Hi Rachael, determining whether you are on 12V or 120V depends on whether the circuit is connected directly to a 120V breaker or if it runs through a step-down transformer. If you do not have a transformer, you would have a 120V circuit. To use this 12V light fixture, you would need to purchase a transformer such as a PX100 by Intermatic.

What transformer is required for Hayward pool light LPCUS1100

The Hayward Universal 12V ColorLogic can use the standard Intermatic PX100; if you plan installing multiple lights, you will need the PX300 or PX600.

I am looking to replace a Hayward LPCUS111000. I saw your previous answer about using the J&J Electronics replacement but I was wondering if you could share a picture of the mounting bracket so I can understand how it mounts to the niche. I have no idea what kind of niche I have. Picture attached looking from the pool deck down.
Hello Mike. Attached please find the Installation and Operation Manual for the Hayward Universal ColorLogic LED Light Fixture. Please review pages 6-8 as they describe mounting the ColorLogic Fixture into a variety of niches. Installation and Operation Manual Removing the fixture from the niche should allow for the identification of the niche. Attached please find a copy of the J & J Electronics ColorSplash Data Sheet which identifies the fixtures compatible niches. ColorSplash Data Sheet
