The optional float by pass valve, what is it and how much does it cost?
Reply
The optional float / by-pass valve provides a main-drain thru skimmer system plus an automatic safety by-pass for low water conditions. You may purchase the float valve assembly through this link http://www.inyopools.com/Products/07501352017468.htm

There is a 3/8"(approx) hole between the two 2" threaded openings, what is this for?
thanks

One is the main drain for the skimmer and the other is for if you want to connect a suction side cleaner into the skimmer.

How long is the throat of the vinyl Hayward skimmer? Is the cover changeable from the square lid to a round lid? Does this skimmer have just one hole on the bottom?
Reply
Hi, Patrick. The throat is 8-1/2", the covers can be changed from round to square or vice versa only by purchasing and installing the Adjusting Collar. The skimmer has two suction ports.

Is there a throat extension available for the Hayward SP1084 skimmer?

The opening size is listed at 7-5/8" x 5-5/8" - which is the inside dimensions of the faceplate, but the faceplate looks like it overhangs the inside of the throat at bit.
What is the exact size of the opening that needs to be cut into the pool? Do you have a template available?

Hi Paul, we do not have a template available, but here is the manufacturer's specification sheet (note that this has a number of skimmers on it - be sure to choose the correct SP1084 model). Per the manufacturer: Panel Cut Out - Max Height 6 ¼” (150mm) Min 6” (152mm), Width Max 8 ¼” (210mm) Min 8” (203mm).
