I just purchased a new grid. When I pre coat grid with proper amount of DE, I get a lot of DE back into pool. Why does this happen?

Hi Dominick, The problem could be that you're not assembling the unit correctly. You can refer to the Hayward Regenx Owner's Manual for installation instructions.

I have a Hayward D.E Regenx Filter Model # RG70093SFT is this the right grid to buy? Also I noticed last year I started seeing more and more earth on the pool floor. When I opened the pool this year and ran the filter, the same thing and more...I see it just coming out the return when I add the earth.. I break down the filter and clean it thoroughly yearly.. it's about 9 years old. Is it safe to assume I just need a new grid such as this and I will stop seeing white powder on the pool floor?

Hi, John. This RG700 - RGX70GE is the correct replacement based on your model #. Replacing the grid can resolve the issue that you're having. If the grid is not seated or the cover is not aligned properly DE will get back into the pool.

I have a Regenx RG700 DE pool filter. The filter got very clogged up because I didn't clean for several years. The filter was cleaned, but now it seems like algae and DE is flowing back into the pool. Is this a sign the filter cartridge needs to be replaced? Is the Regenx a better filter than the Perflex? Thanks Ken

Ken, If d.e is shooting back into the pool, it can either be the filter element (cartridge) or the o-rings and washers on the piston rod. Both the Regen-X and the Perflex have a similar design. I think it would be a tie in terms of quality and durability between the two filters.
