Will a gas heater operate at the low speed of a dual speed motor?
Reply
Probably not - Most gas heater will shut off at low GPM levels (20-40) to keep the heater cores from overheating - 20 for 200 BTUs, 40 for 400 BTUs. Depending on your pool system you might get these GPM levels at the low speed but generally these heaters must be run at the motor's high speed.

what year did model 460730 come out ? what is the newest above the ground natural gas around 200,000 btu heater ?

Hi Bea, The MasterTemp heat pump came out about 7-8 years ago however the manufacture continues to make improvements to the heater every year. The inventory we sell would be the latest inventory being manufactured which normally a few months from manufacture date. The heater on this page would be the one I would suggest for 200,000 BTU heater going on an above ground pool.

What should the salt level be for this heater?
Reply
These units do not require a certain salt level but are not recommended in salt water swimming pools for they do not have the cupronickel heat exchangers.

I have your natural gas heater. What does r13 mean? When I turn the heater on that is the first thing that showed up on the screen. The the heater turns on ,but gives readings up to and past 200 before I turn it off. Something is wrong. Can I fix it?
Reply
R13 is the revision number of the board. As for the 200 reading, it could be a bad thermistor or board.
Reply
The R13 is the revision code, we would need more information to help troubleshoot this unit.
