Will a gas heater operate at the low speed of a dual speed motor?
 Reply

A  Answered on 1/16/2012 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Probably not - Most gas heater will shut off at low GPM levels (20-40) to keep the heater cores from overheating - 20 for 200 BTUs, 40 for 400 BTUs. Depending on your pool system you might get these GPM levels at the low speed but generally these heaters must be run at the motor's high speed.

What is the difference between an Electronic and Millivolt ignition?
 Reply

A  Answered on 10/10/2012 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

The basic answer is that Millivolt is the old style of ignition, using a standing pilot light. While the electronic ignition uses a spark start system like a gas grill. Electronic ignitions are more efficient in gas usage and also are better suited for high wind areas where a pilot light might get extinguished.

I have a 14 Year old Raypak 2100 (P-R405AL-EN) Pool/Spa heater. BTU/HR Input is 399,000 Natural Gas. The decal on the front reads LoNoX but looking at the circuit board, I can clearly see that the LoNoX jumper is installed. Question: Which Replacement Heater do I need? I believe I need the (P-R407A-EN) Since the jumper is left installed on circuit board, I'm curious whether I can use the R406A model. Just want to be sure that I get the correct replacement.

Yes John, the 009243 would be the correct replacement heater for your current heater. If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to email back.

For U.S. installations, the point from where the flue products exit the heater must be a minimum of 4 ft below, 4 ft horizontally from, or 1 ft above any door, window or gravity inlet into any building. The top surface of the heater shall be at least 3 ft above any forced air inlet, or intake ducts located within 10 ft horizontally

what is error code-Limit#1
 Reply

A  Answered on 11/29/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Megan C.

Hello, Aaron. I was unable to locate a definition for Limit#1. If the board is reading HL1 that means, The high-limit has exceeded 135F. The possible solutions are. 1. Possible excessive water temperature in the tube bundle. Once heater cools, high limits resets automatically.2. Check for blockage in tubes.3. Check for low water flow.4. Check Unitherm governor- replace if necessary 5. check bypass assembly- replace spring or bypass if necessary. If that is not correct for you, you may contact Raypak directly at  805-278-5300. Hi, Paula. This unit will be sufficient to heat a 25,000-30,000 gallon pool. However, may not be as efficient as using two units depending on how fast you want the pool to reach the desired temperature.
