What size heat pump would I need for 24,000 gallon pool?
Reply
Hi, The Raypak Standard 133K BTU Digital Heat Pump W/ Chiller (R8350TI-E-HC) will be suitable for you 24,000 pool. I would not recommending a Heat Pump under 110,000 BTU.

My pool is approx. 50,000 gallons, would this be a efficient for that size

Hi Sandi, This is the largest BTU unit Raypak has available. It would take some time to heat a pool your or the AquaCal HeatWave 143K (SQ175) would be the largest unit we carry for residential use.

My Pool is 16000 gallons is this the right size for heating/cooling? Additionally on a Heat Pump can it also heat a whirlpool along with the pool?
Reply
Scott, This would be a good size for your pool. As for the spa, a heat pump will not heat the water as quickly in lower temps but it can be used to heat the spa.

what's the approximate amount of time it would take to cool a 15.000 gallon pool from 92 degrees down to 85 degrees?
Reply
Hi RC, They are several factors like the pool surface color, the outside temp, if the pool is covered etc. that will that will determine how fast this unit will drop the water temperature.

Is INYO an authorized dealer for Raypak? Wan to make sure the warranty will be honored.

Can I connect the RS485 of the Raypak Heat Pump unit to the communication connector on my Pentair Intelliflo pump so that the pump runs when the heat pump is running?
Reply
Hi, William. You are able to wire a variable speed pump to this heat pump using the RS485 Terminal on the pump and the P8 terminal on the unit's circuit board.

Can you provide more details on the electrical connections between the Raypak 8450 heat pump and a Pentair Intelliflo pump for automatic pump operation upon heat pump demand?

Hi, William. Information is available in the Raypak Classic Series Owners Manual.

Thanks. Can you provide more specific info on the wiring connections between the heat pump P8 terminals and the communication cable on the Pentair Intelliflo pump?

Will this heat/cool pump operate efficiently and cohesively in the following size pool - surface square footage 608, at 24,000 gallons operating with a Hayward SP3400VSPVR pump and Hayward Pro Logic automation box ?

please supply the following information so we can provide the proper estimates for you.. 1) What is your zip code and city? 2) What is the nearest major city? 3) What temperature would you like to maintain? (82 -85 degrees is standard) 4) Do you want to heat the pool year round or just extend the pool season by a few months in the spring and fall? 5) What is the square footage of the pool? (For example, a 40' X 20' pool would be 800 sq. ft.) 6) What is the average depth of the pool? 7) Do you have high wind conditions from a lake, ocean or open field with winds over 20 mph consistently? 8) Will the pool heat pump receive direct, partial or no sunlight? 9) Will you be using a solar blanket?

Corrected projected gallons of 18,500 - Size of the pool is 16x38 - Pool Total Sq Ft ='s 608 - average depth of pool is 5 feet - zip code 28422 - closest major city is Wilmington, NC - like to maintain 85 degrees - want to extend the seasons Spring and Fall - no high winds - Heat pump will be located in partial sun - Pool is located in all sun, all day - there will be no solar cover -

Raypak HC unit installed on my pool. I have the unit in Pool Auto and temp set to turn on when water temp drops below 85 or above 85. My unit turns right on when the pump starts and filtering starts my VSP pump starts Problem is if the pool water temp on my Raypak is reading 83 when the start process stops and the pump drops to 80% the Raypak shuts off and reads "No Demand" unit is not running in remote - shouldn't it continue to run to bring the temp of the water up to 85 degrees yes/no.

Our pool is 22000 gal with a spa. Will this heat both and do you have to hook up gas for the backup, will it work without?
Reply
We would need more information about your Pool and Spa. Where are you located? Do you have a cover on the pool? Are you in a high wind area? What temperature do you want the pool or spa at? Is the spa a spillover spa??
Reply
We are in Wilmington, NC and we have never covered our pool. The spa does spill over into the pool, we isolate and heat it up when we want to use it. We like to keep the pool at 85, we heat the pool in the spring and fall to extend our season. We usually can get in the pool Mid March to first of April with a heater and in the fall till November.
Reply
Lisa, This unit will be sufficient. However, a cover will be required in October/November. It will be too cold to operate efficiently.

IS this heat pump compatible with the Pentair Easytouch controller? If so, are any additional items need to connect the heat pump to the controller? Is there documentation for the connection? Thank you.

This heater can be used with the Pentair EZTouch Controller , It will allow you to turn the heater on and off from the control.

Our in-ground pool is appr 24,000 gallons. We live in Louisiana and want to know if this unit would be a good fit for our pool?
Reply
Yes, the Classic Series Heat Pump 137,000 BTU (Heat/Cool) - 016037 will work for you. You will need to use a Solar Blanket or Natural Chemistry COVER FREE 32 Oz - 07100 to prevent evaporation when using a heat pump or heater as 80% of heat loss is due to evaporation, without a cover you will operate the unit longer to reach the desired temperature levels. It will take approximately, 2-hours to raise the temperature by 1-degree for this unit with the use of the solar cover or cover free. If you have a chlorinator or salt system in the plumbing, the use of a check valve will be needed to install in between the heat pump and chlorinator or salt system to prevent the chlorinated water from resting inside of the heat pump when power is off.

I have a 40-50K Swimming Pool, Looking at heating and cooling. Can this do the job or is there a better more efficient system out there.
Reply
Hello Robert. The RayPak Classic Series Heat Pump 137,000 BTU Heat/Cool would be an appropriate model for both heating and cooling. Using a physical cover such as a solar blanket or a chemical cover (Cover Free) will help in obtaining and maintaining the desired temperature. Heat Pumps (in the heating phase) transfer heat energy from the surrounding air to the pool water. The higher the air's ambient temperature, the more heat energy is available, the faster the pool water gains temperature. Water evaporation is the primary reason for heat loss in the pool. A solar blanket or a chemical cover help prevent evaporation and heat loss, protecting your investment in electrical energy to heat the pool water. Natural Chemistry COVER FREE 1 Gallon - 07109
