I have Sta Rite Dura-Glas (not Dura-Glas II) that I need to replace. I dont see the entire pump listed for sale anywhere, only replacement parts. Do you have this pump? Is there another pump that would be a direct replacement?

You are correct, the Dura-Glas is no longer available as a whole unit, only parts are available. As for a true drop in replacement there is none but we do recommend the Max-E-Pro series as an equivalent and durable replacement.

Hello, I have a pool pump that I believe is Sta-rite P2RA5E. (the label is not so good). The pump motor is a marathon 1 hp single speed, frame 56z, square flange, model 5kc38sn6084ax. I would like to replace it with a dual speed (pool is in florida). I saw a a.o smith dual speed on your site (Pool Motor Square Flange 1 HP Full Rate Dual Speed w/ Digital Controller (B2982T), and i would like to know if this is a viable replacement. At this time I am not sure of voltage or amps to the pump.

Hi Michael, The A.O. Smith 3/4 HP Full Rated Dual Speed Motor w/ Digital Controller (B2980T) or (B2981T) would be the correct replacement motor once you confirm the voltage to replace the Marathon 5KC38SN6084AX motor.

Hi, David. To calculate the flow rate of this pump, you will need to know the Total Dynamic Head (TDH) of your pool. Once you've calculated the TDH, use the Sta-Rite Dura-Glas Pump Curve to determine the flow. I have a stay rite duraglass 1 HP pump, Tank body has developed a leak (small crack in 25 year old pump). It works fine but has a drip leak near dischaarge fitting. Your website shows a (Key 15) part no 5056-71 "Tank body" that looks like mine. Will it fit? I would also want a (Key14) O ring and a (Key 28) rubber gasket.

Hi, Sidney. With the pump being that old, I would recommend replacing the entire pump. If you're unable to then replacing those parts will be sufficient.

I have a surplus sta rite pool pump p2ra5e-181L complete with strainer. I live on a lake and would like to pump out of it.. Will this pump lift water approx 8ft to serve as an irrigation pump for my yard? Will it self-prime after the first use? I will be using a foot valve.

Hi, John. The Dura-Glas Pumps can self-prime up to 15 ft above the water level. As far as being a great irrigation pump, it's not designed to be.

I have a StaRite P2RA5E-181L pool pump. My motor - SQ1072 - quit working as it is very old. It's a 3/4 hp motor. I ordered a similar motor that is described as compatible with my pump, but with 1hp instead. Will this work with all things being identical except a hp difference?

Everything should line up right, but you may notice an increase in the electric bill, as the 1HP will draw more amps.

The primary pump P2RA5E-181L to my Pool is hunting and is not pumping water. The water resivoir is filling and unfilling. There is a minor leak to the pipe that attaches to the resevior. The pump iteslf is exxtremely hot.

I think I have the wrong motor or I need a flange of some sort. the main screws connecting the motor to the pump bottom out.
Hello Sal, The longer bottom bolts are actually designed to go through the plastic pump base then into this seal plate. Be careful not to damage the seal plate with those bolts.

Hello, I have a 28 year old P2R A5E-124L pump that has started making an unusual noise, after priming is able to pump but then it loses prime and water flow stops. there are no leaks, and when I removed the tank body and diffuser, I noticed copper flecks in the pump inlet. Therefore at this point I could replace the motor but am unsure as to HP or RPM, therefore but with the P2RA5E discontinued and based on the tag image could you recommend a new replacement pump? Thanks.
Hi, I would suggest just replacing your motor and not the entire pump. Based on your photos you will need this 1 HP Sta-Rite Dura-Glas Replacement Motor. You will also need this Sta-Rite Dura Glas Seal Kit Pre 1998 if you are seeing Copper then you may want to replace your Dura Glas Copper Insert.
