Can I use Super Vision Fiber optic cable with a Fiberstars illuminator?
Reply
Both companies' cable will work with either the Fiberstars or Super Vision illuminator. You will need to make sure that you have the proper perimeter track in your pool to accommodate the appropriate cable.

We are building a wall close to the pool and thinking of a waterfall. Where does everything go? Can the pool pump be used instead of a dedicated pump? How far can the illuminator be from the waterfall? How far from the wall to where the water hits the pool? In other words, how close does the waterfall have to be to the pool?

The illuminator and pump can be placed where your exisiting pool pump and filter is located. The further the distance away from your pool, the more more fiber and a higher HP pump you will need. We recommend purchasing an additional pump for a waterfall. If you use the same pump, the waterfall will take away from the existing water circulation and your pool will not be properly filtered. The model I have is a SV150T. Will this one work for me?

Hello Jim - The SV150T6 will work for you as long as you do not have multiple illuminators that have to sync together. The SV150T6 is for single illuminator systems.

My unit has a tag on it that reads Super Vision SV150T. I have 3 24" waterfall lines as well as the perimeter line going into it. Will this unit replace mine with no upgrades?

I currently have an SV25TH that needs replacement. Will this unit work with the existing cable, which is fine?

I spoke to the tech help at Savi Pool and Spa ( they are part of Zodiac 407.855.5630 ) and was told that the SV150T6 will replace your older SV25TH. The major difference will be that the new system will be brighter.

I have a Fiberstar 6004, basically, its 10 years old and needs replaced completely do to rust, and other problems with the wheel and remote. Is there a replacement that will work, the fiber optic part goes into the ground in a tube, and stops at the small lens glass in the pool about 4 inches under the water. Is there any model with a remote that would replace this set up. I need the remote because all this is mounted on a slab out side a screen room. Thanks for your help.

Hi Garry the Fiberstars 6004 Fiber-Optic Illuminator is still available and this is what I would suggest. There is also a Fiberstars 6004 Remote Control available.

Based on the few pictures I could find online, I think I have a SV250H illuminator. Mine is so rusted I can't find any name or model number on it. What model will replace it and is there anyone in the Orlando area that you could recommend to do the work. Thanks

Hi Tyson, I would suggest the ION LED Fiber Optic Illuminator this is a great unit which is very bright, economical to operate and has a very long lamp life. For installation I would contact Visual Aquatics in Orlando they are great, let them know INYO sent you, here is there contact information http://www.visualaquatics.com/contact.html

I have an old (circa 2003) Supervision fiber optic light. It is a black painted steel box with two toggle switches. The fiber looks to be in good shape, but the ends need cleaning or polishing. The bulb burned out and when opening it, it fell apart due to heavy rust. What can I get to replace it that will work with the existing fiber and what can I do to clean the fiber end?

Hi Rob, I would suggest SV150T6 illuminator as a replacement for your old Supervision fiber optic light tower. There is a good video here Showing How to Clean and Polish Fiber Optic Pool Cable.

Hi Joey, It's hard to say what could be wrong with the unit. You can review the SV150T6 Installation Manual for troubleshooting steps.

Hello I have a 12 year old Super Vision 6-Color - SV150T6 that stopped working a few years ago. I’m going to start a re-finishing of my Inground fiberglass pool and want to upgrade to a new LED light system, Are there any upgrade recommendations? I don’t think I want fiberoptics anymore.

Hi, Apopka JJ. You can use the PT-6000 Lighting Kit if you have underwater fiber optic lights.

I have a Super Vision 6-Color Illuminator - SV150T6, recently the unit stopped operating I think it was due to the fan that stopped and the lamp failed. Is there an easy way to troubleshoot the system to eliminate having to order several parts that I may not need. Or is there a replacement unit where I can still use the fiber cables and not have to replace them.

Hi, John. You can use the SV150T6 Installation Manual to troubleshoot the unit. o replace the entire unit, you can use Lifetime Illuminator - Metal Halide - 6004.

The Pentair Glo-Brite LED Lights can be used to replace most Fiberstar lights installed with Standard wall fittings. 1.5" wall fittings. You will need to order one the Glo-Brite Niche for Gunite (concrete), Vinyl, or Fiberglas pools to install the light in. You may use the link http://www.inyopools.com/productlisting/pentair-glo-brite-led-lights.aspx to view the lights, niche, and transformer for ordering. All Pentair products must be professionally (with a documented receipt) installed to honor the manufacturer defect warranty.

I am in need of a cover for my pool lighting system: Super Vision SV150T. I know it is an older system but just am in need of a cover as it has rusted. If the system is too old to find the replacement part, any suggestions of a newer model that has a cover that may fit my older one?

Unfortunately, these are no longer available with no listed replacement. You can always contact the manufacturer S.R. Smith at 1-800-824-4387 to see about any other potions.
