I'm looking to replace my G.E motor. My model is a C1318. Your description matches but you say this is a Marathon motor. Is this right?

G.E. and Marathon are one in the same. G.E was purchased by Regal Beloit and is now under the Marathon name. The quality of the motor has not changed.

I'm trying to replace the motor on my pool pump but all these numbers and abbreviations on the motor label are really confusing me. What do they mean?

Replacing a pool pump motor is not as difficult as it seems. You can try looking here. If you need help figuring out what the information on your label means. If you are still having difficulty figuring it out you can call us at our toll free number or you can send us a photo of your motor label here.

This is the motor I have on my pool pump. Is there a more efficient motor to replace this. If so, is the payback worth the additional expense?

An energy efficient option can be found here: http://www.inyopools.com/Products/00200017044611.htm?Keywords=uct1152 The amount you will save will vary on how long you run the motor, costs (kwh) and other variables. On average, you can save up to 30% in electric costs. There are some seals that you will need to replace as well. Do you know the pump housing model number?

I think i have this motor and it whines when it starts up and then quiets down, it also runs hot to the touch, i assume the bearings are going. My motor label says, 5kc38sn2835dx, frame 56z, sf 1.18 or 1.19, housing is a water ace rsp15, so I assume it is a 1.5 hp motor. The label is very difficult to read so the numbers could be slightly different. What is a suitable replacement? Thank you.

Yes you do have a 1-1/2 HP motor and I would suggest the Century USQ1152 1-1/2 HP Replacement Motor along with a Water Ace Shaft Seal.

i have this marathon motor and it keeps a lot of noise lately its 1.5 hp c 1246 i believed the bearings is bad

Hi Mike, The Marathon Electric 1.5 HP Square Flange Motor (C1246,5KC39UN6086X) would be the correct replacement motor if you were looking to replace the complete motor.

looking for a replacement motor for a marathon C1246 square flange 56Z motor running 230V. I thought I had all these numbers figured out except for this oddball 56Z FR. The direct replacement is no longer available for this pump but in the Q/A you linked to an AO Smith that would work.... But it is a 48Y??? I would prefer a high efficiency motor if possible without also replacing the pump (Dura Glas P2RA5F-182). It seems options are really limited with the 56Z frame...
Thanks,
Adam

Hi Adam, The A.O. Smith 1 1/2 H.P Energy Efficient Square Flange Up Rate Motor (UQC1152) will be a higher efficiency replacement motor that will work with you model pump.

My marathon pump will not run all breakers are good could the capacitor be bad

Hi Rainer, It could be few things, the capacitor could be one issue, or the motor is just dead. You can review our Pool Motor Troubleshooting blog to troubleshoot issues with your motor.

We have a Marathon 5KC39UN6086X motor on our pool pump that is on its last legs. What pump motors would work as a replacement for this model?

Hello,
I have a pool pump that is using an Emerson motor Cat. No. EUSQ1152, Model C55CXKLT-5007. I would like to install a Variable Frequency Drive on this system and would like a motor with the same mounting that is inverter duty rated (insulation class F). Can you help me specify this? Thanks!

Hi, Matthew. You can use the ECM16SQU - V-Green 1.65 HP Square Flange 48Y Variable Speed Motor as an option.

Thank you for the quick response. However, I already have a Variable Frequency Drive. I am specifically looking for just a motor, not the entire motor/controller combination. Do you have a motor only that is rated for inverter duty applications? Thanks!

Matthew, We do not have a replacement motor for the EUSQ1152 that will work with an external VFD.
