What is Service Factor?
Reply
Service Factor(SF) is a multiplier that when multiplied by the horsepower of the motor indicates the total permissible horsepower loading that may be carried when the motor is operating at rated voltage and frequency. The most important thing to remember when replacing a motor is that the replacement motor's horsepower times its service factor must be equal to or greater than the original motor's horsepower times its service factor. The Service Factor rating can be found on the motor label. See Step 4 of our How to Read a Pool Motor Label guide.

We have a Century Centurion A.O.SMITH Cat B688, with part number 187400-20. It appears very similar to the B663, part number 3250-A58X Will your B663 work for us? Thanks

Hi Robert and Paula. It depends on the model of the pump that the motor bolts to. If you can provide us with pump model we can confirm if the B663 motor will replace the B688 motor.

Looking for the gasket seal for the base and disc I believe for the model C48J2N127 on the bottom of the Booster pump

Hello Martin, what this motor C48J2N127 looks like it matches up with is Arneson Pool Sweep I & II - Booster Pump, I think what you are referring to is number 35.

HI,
I have the old upright Arneson 3/4 for for my Legend Sweeper. I would buy the newer pump but my plumping is for the old upright Arneson. My question is, does this come with gasket or should part# 3250-A40 Gasket, end Bell? I replace motor once before but no one around sell them anymore.
Thanks, Dan

Hi, Dan. The End Bell Gasket - A-40 is sold separately, it's not included with the motor.

We have a century b 663, part 7-168859-22 type cx frame G56Y. We used the bell gasket seal when installed and now it’s torn and melted.. could there possibly be a different gasket seal option that doesn’t use the bell?
No other recommended repairs or part, due to safety concerns of water and electric. New motor is suggested. 35-126-3014

We have one of these attached to our pump set up and it’s noisy. Would that be bearings needing to be replaced, and if so which should I order? Also we don’t even have the sweep for this, can it be disconnected?

The Bearing, 203 (Single) - 62032RS are the bearings needed, you will need two. A new Pump Shaft Seal 5/8" - PSR-200 will be needed when you remove the impeller to replace the bearings in the motor, the shaft seal will no longer work it will leak if you use the old one. The Booster Pump, Letro 115/230V (LA01N) can be used to replace the whole pump since the other is discontinued. If you are not using a pressure side pool sweep anymore, yes, you can have it removed.
