What is Service Factor?
Reply
Service Factor(SF) is a multiplier that when multiplied by the horsepower of the motor indicates the total permissible horsepower loading that may be carried when the motor is operating at rated voltage and frequency. The most important thing to remember when replacing a motor is that the replacement motor's horsepower times its service factor must be equal to or greater than the original motor's horsepower times its service factor. The Service Factor rating can be found on the motor label. See Step 4 of our How to Read a Pool Motor Label guide.

Hello. I need to replace a 7-193776-01 motor. I can't find that part number anywhere. Is there an equivalent motor available? Thanks.

I am replacing a 0-193675-01 Serial# 23315
They simply have "----" for listed HP & SF
Volts: 230
Amps 8.8/3.0
Based on the amps I don't believe the 3HP B2234 model is the correct motor. Am I missing something?
Will the pump assembly from my old pump work on this pump? I have a Sta-Rite Dura Jet part #7-193776-01 (See Pictures). Is this the correct replacement pump? If the pump assembly won't work, does this motor come with a pump assembly?
Thanks
Hi Richard, Yes this motor here B2234 will work on your current Dura Jet Pump Assembly. You will also need this Dura Jet Shaft Seal when you replace your motor. We put together this Video on How to Replace a Pump Motor which you may find helpful when you tackle this project.

the motor works good in low speed acting the main circulator however when I switch to high speed it hums for about 5 seconds shuts down then restarts in low speed after a minute. Could this be a bad starter coil?
